Cosplayer Interviews – Eva-No-Jutsu

1

Calling herself a self-proclaimed genius, this is Eva-No-Jutsu, a pretty American girl. She is one of our cooperative partners in the cosplay talent sponsored program. We offer free costumes for her. And actually, she is gifted. So many stunning pictures in her gallery definitely speak for this. She believes in the quote of “Vexen, Marluxia, Near, Mello, Tamaki, Kyoya…..I always cosplay my favorite pairings”. Today, Eva-No-Jutsu joined our cosplay interviews to share us something helpful. Now, take a look please.

1. Please introduce yourself first.

I’m Alouette Cosplay (eva-no-jutsu on deviantart). I live in Florida and have been cosplaying for almost four years now.

2. What does cosplay mean to you?

Cosplaying to me means FUN! To me, cosplay also means getting to be your favorite character for a few hours which is a really wonderful feeling 🙂

3. What and when was your first cosplay?

My first cosplay was techinally L from Death Note almost exactly 4 years ago. But the first cosplay I wore to a con and have pictures of is Mello from death note also 4 years ago.

4. What is your most memorable cosplay experience?

My most memorable cosplay experience is when I was dressed up as the Superhero, Black Canary. I was at a local comic book store’s anniversary party and a little girl came up to me and was telling me about how I was her favorite hero and how she wanted to be a hero too when she grew up. She also asked me all these questions about what life is like in the Justice League and what other famous heros like Batman were like in person. She was so sweet!!

5. What’s your favorite photo shoot?

My favorite photoshoot so far was as Marluxia (from Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories) at Metrocon 2010. I had two of my friends with me as Zexion and Namine and it was done by one of my favorite photographers. Not only did the pictures turn out great, but the whole process was so much fun! 😀

6. What’s your favorite anime/manga/game character to cosplay as?

My favorite character to cosplay as….thats a hard one! It would have to be a tie between Oerba Dia Vanille (FFXIII), Meiko (Vocaloids), Marluxia (KH re:CoM) and Black Canary (DC Comics)

7. Any cosplay plan in future?

Of course! Im always planning future cosplays. Right now im looking at Madison Paige (Heavy Rain), Okino (Zone-00), Anemone (Eureka 7), Rinoa (FFVIII), and Scissortwin Jemima (Clock Tower 3)

8. Do you make your costumes yourself or buy them?

A little of both. I started out just buying them, but now I make most of them with help from a local seamstress/friend and some comississon them as well.

9. Any other cosplayers you like?

Of course! Honestly a lot of my favorite cosplayers are here in Florida (and some in Georgia). I really look up to my peers, especially those who have been doing this longer than me. They’re so talented!!

10. Do some changes happen to you after cosplay?

I have a lot more conifidence now! 😀 Also it has introduced me to so many great people.

11. Any advice you wanna share with cosplay newbies?

My best advice is just to go ahead and do it! Do you have a dream cosplay? Even if you think its too hard, start planning it out and practicing. Ask other cosplayers and look up tutorials and online lessons, sometimes its best just to take that leap of faith. Also, never loose sight of the fact that cosplay is for fun, and no matter what youre doing cosplay related (cons, photoshoots, events, contest or just hanging out) keep that in mind 🙂

I’m also a devotee for cosplay. To do well in this performance art, I’m interested in hunting for funny, gorgeous or fantastic pictures. From these breathtaking works and interviews done by cosplay talents, I always get inspired.
