Megurine Luka Cosplay

Q9. Any other cosplayers you like?

Having problems with my phrasing now, uhh… rather than to say I really like other cosplayers to the “crazy fan” or “worship”, it’s more of like respecting them. Well every other cosplayers are just cosplayers too, I mean like celebrities or not, they are just normal people (=A= )|| … Like Kaname, Yugene, … oh gosh, I have no idea how to phrase my words, seriously. … like I’ll give kudos/give props to them for their exceptional effort & commitment. Maybe I feel a little fan-girling about their good looks.

Q10. Do some changes happen to you after cosplay?

Become more open minded… hmmm…

Q11. Any advice you wanna share with cosplay newbies?

‎- If you want people to respect you, please respect others first.

– Old and New cosers, please treat one another as equal.. Old gens were once like new cosers, they just got better over the years. But that doesn’t mean they are bossing you around. IT’S CALLED GOOD ADVICE~ (And its optional to listen to it)

– Keep the place clean when you leave the area. It’s not a makan place where you throw and expect someone to clean up after you..

– If the wall of photos are making you nervous, stop and take a break. It’s better than being stuck there forever. The photos will just go away…

– Lastly Cosplay may be addictive, but it’s not your life. HAVE FUN!

Videogame Cosplay Interview: Auron from Final Fantasy X

Hey there this is the Lunar Angel, bringing you the latest and greatest cosplay related content straight from the Sunshine State of Florida, USA. Ill be bringing you news on Florida cons and the cosplayers that frequent there. So lets get started by meeting one of Florida’s best cosplayers: Shawn Tuffy as he cosplays Auron from Final Fantasy X. This is just a small taste of the interview to read more follow the link at the bottom 🙂

1.Tell us about your character and why you chose to portray him. What similarities do you have with your character?
“I was told a few years ago that I resembled the character, I shrugged it off at the time. Then I was looking for a challenge and my friend brought Auron up again. That is when I realized I fit the character very well. My girlfriend, Danielle, said she would cosplay as Rikku (a female character in Final Fantasy X), so I figured it would be fun to do this in a group. I would like to thank my friend Jessie for recommending Auron.”

2.What initially drove you to play Final Fantasy X?
“Hehe, I didn’t. But I decided to make the costume so I can cosplay in a group, its more fun that way. I own the game but due to work I have not been able to play video games as much as I would like.”

3.Is Auron your favorite videogame character? If not who is?
“Auron is not my favorite. My favorite of all time is Parappa the Rapper. I also like Yangus from Dragon Quest VIII and The Great Mizuti from Baten Kaitos.”

4.What drove you to put in the work to make this Auron’s outfit and how did you go about making it?
“I was taught by a pro seamstress, I was inspired by her work and sought to make something as good as she could. As for Auron, I often saw people copying his outfit from images, but I look at his picture and imagine how it would be made in real life. If it looked like leather, I made it out of leather. The sword Auron wields is impressive but it is against convention rules to bring in dangerous weapons, instead I used wood and fiberglass to make it. The hardest part to make was the belt and getting the jug Auron always carries with him to stay in place.”

2. What does cosplay mean to you?

Cosplay for me means without doubtful engagement and fun. When I do a character I seek is to resemble us in the physical appearance but above all the personality one. And the thing that for me satisfies more of everything is to hear itself even if to call from the other with the name of the character that bushels interpreting, or the photograph with the fans… it’s so amazing!!

3. What and when was your first cosplay?

Misa Amane back in 2008, to a party of Halloween, I had chosen it for case however then later on, l’ I restored to an event in more serious manner! While the first cosplay from fair Yuuki of Vampire Knight, was exciting to show itself with this custom for the first time in the convention, I really love this character!

4. What is your most memorable cosplay experience?

Uhmm well almost all… thanks above all to the friends that make fun to every convention, however if I should choose I would say when I carried Ange Ushiromiya of Umineko No Naku Koro Ni together with the group, was amusing and besides the compliments we won to the contest!

5. What’s your favorite photo shoot?

I love the photo shooting sessions, because express to the better one the essence of the character that bushels interpreting. My favorite photograph between the a lot is this here flown off from Michele Albrigo in a photoset realized to Padova. The cosplay is Sheryl Name of Macross! This is amazing work!

I have many project, for now just I ended Shinku of Rozen Maiden, the next will be Another Blood of Demonbane and Mammon of the Stakes of Purgatory with all of the group!! Besides I am finishing also a new custom of Sheryl! I do not see it now!

11. Any advice you wanna share with cosplay newbies?

Uhm…the first lesson for who is beginning from little to do cosplay is without doubt not to forget itself that the cosplay is fun. Then other important thing are the details, even if the custom is not especially complex, is necessary to exploit other things like a good wig or a make made up well. a lot jump it like detail, but according to me the make up to times does the difference in any custom! 🙂

Kazemon Cosplay

The feminine & graceful One Piece Kalifa Cosplay done by Elisa Cosplay was found by us half a month ago. Today, this pretty Italian girl accepts our interview. We do feel lucky to be allowed to know more information from this professional cosplayer. She is also known as GothicLolita88 at Deviantart.com. Being interested in anime, cosplay, etc, she shows us many stunning works in her gallery. Some of them are picked out and displayed below. Take a look now.

1. Please introduce yourself first.

Hi, my name’s Elisa, I come from Italy, and I study foreign languages and literatures (English and Japanese) at university. I have been a cosplayer since 2008.

2. What does cosplay mean to you?

First of all, cosplay means having fun. Because becoming your favorite character for a day is great, and also, when you go to cosplay conventions you can meet new people, and friends you don’t see so often because they live far from you. Last but not least, making your costumes improves your fantasy and skills, and wearing them strengthens your confidence and self-esteem.

Madam Red Cosplay

3. What and when was your first cosplay?

My first cosplay was Misa Amane from Death Note and I wore it at Fumettopoli (a comic convention in Milan, Italy) in february 2008. It was a very easy cosplay, since I had the same hair and already owned very similar outfits.

4. What is your most memorable cosplay experience?

The first time I cosplayed together with my cosplay group. We lived together for three days, finishing our costumes, practicing our skit, taking funny pictures and videos.

5. What’s your favorite photo shoot?

The Kuroshitsuji photo shoot taken at the monumental cemetery in Ravenna (Italy).

Wanted Picture Cosplay

6. What’s your favorite anime/manga/game character to cosplay as?

Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji. I have already made 5 versions and I intend to make a lot more (from anime, manga, illustrations, etc.)

7. Any cosplay plan in future?

My cosplay wishlist is quite long, I have already planned almost all my cosplays for next year.

8. Do you make your costumes yourself or buy them?

I make them myself. My grandma taught me how to sew, I still ask for her advice sometimes, but I try to make everything on my own. Same goes for the accessories: sometimes my grandpa helps me out, but I try to make as much as possible myself.

Pandora Hearts Alice Cosplay

9. Any other cosplayers you like?

I don’t have a favorite cosplayer. Basically, I like a cosplayer when he/she makes a very good cosplay of a character I like, putting a lot of effort in making the costume and accuracy into the details (even if the costume is simple), because I love details.

10. Do some changes happen to you after cosplay?

Yes, after I started cosplaying, I became more open and less shy, and I developed a great self-confidence.

11. Any advice you wanna share with cosplay newbies?

Always cosplay characters you know and you like, because it’s a lot more fun. Start with something simple but always pay attention to the costume’s details, and also to the wig and make-up, because they are very important for the cosplay’s first impression.
