Hi I’m Michelle and well I love anime and cosplay 😀 I also love to draw so if you want please check out my DA and Facebook too 😀 also I do play guitar and also play tennis(anyone want to do a cosplay tennis match? lols). I make some of my outfits like my Sora outfit that’s not yet done. I’m currently working on my Sasuke outfit so yey me when it’s done. I have different cosplays such as Kingdom Hearts, Naruto, Bleach, and soon Vampire Knight. You can find me walking around the park in Los Angeles (won’t say where) and just chilling in my room working on my art and trying to improve. I also do make photo shoots here in Los Angeles for my friends so I can put them up on FB and DA. I also help my dad in making my props and well try to see what I could cosplay as. I do my make up on my own and I have to help my sister in her make up, and if anyone need to do a makeup for your cosplay I can do it for you 😀 no charge. I think that’s about it 😀

A: I learned about this contest from my friend on Deviant Art. I don’t know much about Miccrostumes.com.

Q: Is Bleach cosplay your favorite theme? Which character from Bleach do you most like? Is the costume for this character covered here or in our store?

A: Yes I Love Bleach it is my Most Favorite Anime.my Favorite Character is both Ulquiorra and Grimmjow. Yes I think, and if I do win I would like the Ulquiorra or the Grimmjow Outfit:D.

Q: What’s your first cosplay? How do you think about it? Is there any photo shared with us?

A: My First Cosplay was Yoruichi From Bleach. I think about it as my first love sort of feeling to me. Yes there is one with me as yoruichi and two clouds sorry I really don’t have a lot of pictures of just me.

Q: Is there any cosplay plan recently? Or which cosplay convention are you interested in taking part in?

A: There is a cosplay plan; I hope to cosplay as either Ulquiorra or Grimmjow for this year’s anime expo 2012. All of Anime Expos and Comikazes.

Q: How long will you continue to do cosplay? Or do you think you will do it all the time? What does cosplay mean to you? Is there any element rather attractive for you?

A: I will continue to cosplay for a very long time I hope:D. I think I will cosplay all the time if I could :D. Cosplay means THE WORLD to me. It’s like I’m getting to know the character:D. I find cosplay attractive because it gets you to change your appearance and it looks awesomeXD.

Q: We will be interested to know the most memorable moment you got during cosplay.

A: i recently participated in the anime expo 2011 and also the comikaze. my favorite part about going to cons is that you get to meet cosplayer there and you get new friends too 😀 also the most memorable part is that you feel that you belong and also you feel that this was definitely worth the hours in making your cosplays when someone asked to take your picture

A: The important aspects for a beginner cosplayer is that to be yourself, don’t let people intimidate you and have fun with the cosplay you do:D

Q: Do your family members support you? Do you often talk about your cosplay works with them? Do they also love what you’ve done?

A: My mom really doesn’t get it and sometime she tells me it’s dumb but she still supports me, my dad is 100% supportive and also help makes my props like my keyblade and swords, he’s the best :D, and lastly my older sister she is also a cosplayer and cosplays with me in the same series with me. She also helps me make my outfits and helps me buy some of them.:D I do talk mostly with my dad and sister about what cosplays should I go as and what other prop can we make. My dad love what I’ve done so far, my mom she likes when I look cute, and my sister is always happy when I do her anime makeup.

My name is Katy (Cosplay name is Kani) and I have been cosplaying for about 3 or so years now. I love to take advantage of a warm, summer day to have a private photoshoot! <3 Not just for me though, but for all of my cosplay friends. Cosplaying, in my opinion, is a passion. Description: This is orihime by a fence. I thought the way the fence continuing into the background would make a PERFECT shot, so I took the picture here.

Description: Orihime in the snow. I put her in a white dress, to show her innocence. She looks so peaceful, and though it was FREEZING to do that shot, I think it turned out amazing.

Description: This one is called “Orihime and Rukia best friends.” I don’t know if this one can count in the contest(Since my Rukia is in the shot) but this is my favorite of all the pictures we have taken <3 It just shows everything I love about cosplay. The happiness of the moment XD It was a peanut butter picnic!

A: I found out about your contest through DeviantArt 😛 But honestly, I don’t know much about MicCostumes.

Q: Is Bleach cosplay your favorite theme? Which character from Bleach do you most like? Is the costume for this character covered here or in our store?

A: Bleach is actually my favorite theme! My Orihime cosplay is my favorite. My favorite character in Bleach would probably be orihime in all honesty! Or maybe Shinji… And this costume was actually all hand made by me 😛 Well, thrift store bought and what not 😛

Q: What’s your first cosplay? How do you think about it? Is there any photo shared with us?

A: My first cosplay was actually Sakura from Naruto… It wasn’t very good D: I DO NOT want to show that photo xD

Q: Is there any cosplay plan recently? Or which cosplay convention are you interested in taking part in?

A: I have recently done Blaire from SoulEater, and plan on being Luka Megurine (Vocaloids) and my next convention is KamiCon

Q: How long will you continue to do cosplay? Or do you think you will do it all the time? What does cosplay mean to you? Is there any element rather attractive for you?

A: I will continue to do cosplay until my abled body can no longer support its cosplay needs! so maybe 5 or so more years 😛 But cosplay to me is… It is something I hold very dear… I love the feeling of wearing a new wig, or getting to pretend that I am a model :3 I get to be another person, from one of my favorite series! And share it with the world. SO cosplay, to me, is a passion <3 Q: We will be interested to know the most memorable moment you got during cosplay.

A: My most memorable cosplay… Hm… THere are too many xD One time I was at a convention, and this guy asked me to ballroom dance with him in the lobby xD OH! And one time, everyone was dancing to Hare Hare Yukai in the lobby of AWA 2011, but it was the 3 or so minute version, and noone knew the 3 or so minute version, but I DID! So Orihime did some Hare Hare Yukai B) IT was pretty hardcore.

Q: It’s believed our cosplay fans will be grateful if you can share us with your experience in this performance art. What’s the most important aspect for a cosplay beginner?

A: The most important thing for a beginner cosplayer to remember is that there are some cosplays right for you, and some not. So if you mess up the first time, don’t sweat it! OH! And the number 1 rule: Always, ALWAYS, remember to brush your wig out 😀 DOn’t let it become a tangled mess, and keep your costume in a good condition!

Q: Do your family members support you? Do you often talk about your cosplay works with them? Do they also love what you’ve done?

A: My family is very supportive. Who do you think drives me more than 3 hours away to take me to a convention?! I love to discuss cosplay, especially with my mom, and she even helps me decide new cosplay to do!

Lene‘s Bleach Cosplay Performance

Character: Rukia

Description: The summer version of the school uniform is one of my favorites to wear. It’s simple to put on and the most comfortable costume.

Description: My fingers were freezing it touched the snow, but I’m really happy with how the photo came out. Sode no Shirayuki is almost hidden in this photo! Shihakushou was made using black polyester fabric with plain white cotton for the under layer.

Description: I was happy to debut Lieutenant Rukia at AWA 2011! I simple love the addition of the gloves as it resembles closely to Byakuya’s. It was also very fun to make the gloves—easily my favorite part of the new version! The badge was made from cardboard foam and painted over with acrylic paint.

Sode no Shirayuki was made by myself using cardboard, ribbon, clay, and cardboard foam and then painted over with white acrylic paint. Photo by TheKat ConGoer and edited by me.

Description: I wanted to depict Rukia’s solemn expression during the Soul Society arc, where she was held prisoner. The costume was made using white polyester fabric, the red collar was made using card stock paper and then I sew red fabric over the paper. The butterfly was drawn by myself on my black shimmering artpad cover!

Q: How did you know our contest? And how much have you known about Miccostumes.com?

A: I saw this contest advertised at DeviantArt. I have heard of Miccostumes before over at cosplay.com.

Q: Is Bleach cosplay your favorite theme? Which character from Bleach do you most like? Is the costume for this character covered here or in our store?

A: Bleach is one of my favorite cosplay theme, simply because I have a great admiration towards the heroine, Rukia.  Besides Rukia, I like Byakuya, Yoruichi, and Shinji. And yes, my costume is covered in your store.

Q: What’s your first cosplay? How do you think about it? Is there any photo shared with us?

A: My first cosplay is actually the Bleach shinigami outfit done in 2006 for ACen! However, instead of Rukia, it was done for Nanao Ise. I used black polyester, white cotton, and black cotton for the outfit. The shoe was purchased at a store from the mall and then customized to make it look like the waraji shoes. I also modify a generic white sock to turn them into tabi sock.

Q: Is there any cosplay plan recently? Or which cosplay convention are you interested in taking part in?

A: I have costumes for Macross Frontier, Bleach, Final Fantsy Type-0, Vocaloid, Puella Magi Madoka Magic planned for this year. The conventions I have planned are Anime Detour, Anime Central, MTAC, and AWA.

Q: How long will you continue to do cosplay? Or do you think you will do it all the time? What does cosplay mean to you? Is there any element rather attractive for you?

A: Cosplay has always been to express and not impress, at least for me. It allows me to bring out my creativity and helps me to improve my craftsmanship. I don’t see myself cosplaying all the time, but I certainly will not stop cosplay!

Q: We will be interested to know the most memorable moment you got during cosplay.

A: Simple meeting new people who shares the same interest as me: to cosplay

Q: It’s believed our cosplay fans will be grateful if you can share us with your experience in this performance art. What’s the most important aspect for a cosplay beginner?

A: The process will be long, but with the time and effort you spend on making a costume/prop/accessory, in the end the work will pay off.

Q: Do your family members support you? Do you often talk about your cosplay works with them? Do they also love what you’ve done?

A: I have family members who cosplays as well, so it’s nice to cosplay together.  And while they don’t embrace cosplay as openly as I do, we all still support it.

Tenchi‘s Bleach Cosplay Performance

Character: Abarai Renji

Description: Abarai Renji with Zabimaru in Bankai Form from Bleach. I LOVE Renji and hope to eventually make all his forms. This is a giant project that took 6 months and cost over $600. I shaved my own head for it. I also wove my own sandals. I like to say that the only part of this costume and prop that I didn’t make was the socks…I only altered those.

A: I was invited to join via FB. Notthing.

A: Not at all. Abarai Renji or Kuchiki Byakuya. His Gotei 13 outfit is, but mine is Bankai.

Q: What’s your first cosplay? How do you think about it? Is there any photo shared with us?

A: Ranma 1/2 – Ra-chan back in 2000. Went to my first con, went home and threw it together for the next day of the con.

Q: Is there any cosplay plan recently? Or which cosplay convention are you interested in taking part in?

A: Right now I’m not planing much. Trainee Grell from Kuroshitsuji: Will the Shinigami OVA and Oga Tatsumi from Beelzebub.

Q: How long will you continue to do cosplay? Or do you think you will do it all the time? What does cosplay mean to you? Is there any element rather attractive for you?

A: Forever? I  have so many plans for when I’m older. Lol Cosplay means everything to me. It’s an expression of my fandom, it’s an expression of my art it’s an expression of me. But almost all cosplayers are fond of the attention so admittedly that’s part of it.

Q: We will be interested to know the most memorable moment you got during cosplay.

A: There are SO many. I’ve been cosplaying since Nov. 2000. One of my favorites though was at Anime Festival Orlando XI. I was dressed as Sonozaki Shion form Higurashi no naku koro ni and just wandering the halls. A had a young man come running from across the convention center shouting “SHION!! SHION!!!” He gets up to me, camera in hand, and tells me that he LOVES Shion and that seeing my cosplay just made his con….and that he wants a picture. lol It’s another aspect of cosplay that I love though. To make fans happy just from wearing a well made costume.

Q: It’s believed our cosplay fans will be grateful if you can share us with your experience in this performance art. What’s the most important aspect for a cosplay beginner?

A: Perseverance. Experience is the key with cosplay. The more you get used to crafting odd shapes and pieces the better it gets. Don’t be afraid to try, don’t let yourself get discourraged and just keep at it. ^_^

Q: Do your family members support you? Do you often talk about your cosplay works with them? Do they also love what you’ve done?

A: Some do some don’t. My mom is pretty supportive. It’s only my biggest and most insane things that everyone kinda backs off from. I talk about my cosplay with anyone who will listen and frankly sometimes they’re the only ones who are even willing to listen lol My mom often says that she likes seeing me transform plain looking craft supplies into such awesome pieces.
