Cosplay Tutorial Contest – How Is It Going?

Contest themed on cosplay tutorial collection had been launched on March 6. Tutorials in any form are being accepted at present. It will end on March 26. But votes will last to April 9. So far, seven cosplay devotees have joined in the contest. See how many votes they have already gotten here.

As the list implies, Michelle takes over the lead at present by her tutorial about how to do Sasuke makeup. Congratulation :D.

Votes gotten on Facebook, Google, comments and from Miccostumes staff will be counted. Good luck, everybody.

Cosplay Contests Sponsored by Mic Costumes – Spirit up in March!

Except our own cosplay tutorial contest, we also take charge of the sponsor for many other cosplay conventions. Winners for those contests will receive gift cards that are worthy of at least $60.00. Some of them have already ended and some are proceeding vigorously. Cosplay devotees, keep your spirit up in March and win a gift card from us now!

2nd, Cosplay Contest on Knightrokon.com: all contest forms are due by February 21, 2012. But you can still enter the contest during the convention. Winners will be sponsored with two gift cards. Each of them is worthy of $60.00.

3rd, Nipponcon Anime Convention on Wix.com: it’s held on March 3rd, 2012. Winners have been sponsored with two gift cards. Likewise, each of them is worthy of $60.00.

4th, Cosplay Contest on All-con.org: the cosplay competition will take place on March 16th, 2012. The winner will be sponsored with a gift card worthy of $100.00.

5th, Masquerade on Animeconji.org: the event is scheduled on March 17, 2012. The winner will be sponsored with a gift card worthy of $100.00.

I heard about this contest through Deviantart, if it is easy to join!, I like what the competition offers

I have no one in particular, mmm death note performance

Difficulties? mmm, the colors of wigs or costumes that at timesare not completely defined.

Q: How did you know this contest? Is it easy to join in or do you have any advice for it? Since there will be many other contests held here, which theme do you most expect to see later?

I learned about it via you and I showed it to Andy and the next theme I expect will be Easter or Spring.

Q: What’s your favorite cosplay theme? And what’s your best cosplay performance?

Personally I hate themes I think my best performance was my Miku Hatsune costume and Andy’s best preformance was his Grell costume.

Q: What do you think about cosplay? Share us something good and bad on this performance art in your opinion.

We love cosplay and everything about it. The only complaint I think either of us have is how uncomfortable some costume pieces can be.

Q: We will be interested in knowing some difficulties you met while cosplay. And how did you overcome them?

With this particular shoot, I found out last minuet that Andy didn’t have a photographer. I went up to where our cosplay group hangs out and asked the one person there if she would be a photographer. She said no so I went down to the library where I had a friend and one of his friends. They both said no then I realized that one of my friends was in the area by the main school entrance and when I asked him he accepted but when we got back to where we did the photo shoot, Andy wasn’t there so we went back up to the cosplay group area and asked the one person there if she saw Andy. She replied that Andy was in the cafeteria so we went down and we picked Andy up.

Justin is 24, and I am 20. We have known eachother for about two years, and we have been together for a little over one. We love to spend time together, and both really LOVE to dress up in costumes. So we definately enjoy cosplaying, but we usually can’t afford to get costumes. : (  I know he wants to do more, since we have only done it once, so when I found this contest I was sooo excited! I just love to make him happy, so I really hope we win this and we can do more stuff we enjoy together. ^-^

Comments from the Cosplayers: I have no comments for the pictures except for We really weren’t sure how to pose for the characters, and that when I showed up to get the pictures taken I forgot my gloves and necklace : ( and Justin forgot his rose….I was very upset lol

Q: How did you know this contest? Is it easy to join in or do you have any advice for it? Since there will be many other contests held here, which theme do you most expect to see later?

I accidently came across it i think.
Yes, it was very easy to join ^-^ Everything about it was simple enough anyway ha.
I would expect to see a theme for just about all the holidays, like for christmas, take some in the snow, or with christmasy type backgrounds and such.

Q: What’s your favorite cosplay theme? And what’s your best cosplay performance?

I don’t really have a favorite theme, and due to…funding issues I have only dressed up once. So my best/only performance was cosplaying Sailor mars, with my boyfriend as Tuxedo Mask.

Q: What do you think about cosplay? Share us something good and bad on this performance art in your opinion.

I LOVE it. Seeing so many people come together to show off their skills in making costumes, or just to share their same interest in dressing up is soooooo fun!! Its a great way to make new friends and get out there and meet new people. On a down side, it does cost a bit too much to either buy or make your costume, which sometimes discourages people from participating. 🙁

Q: We will be interested in knowing some difficulties you met while cosplay. And how did you overcome them?

I ordered a costume online by using their measuring chart, which I followed exactly, and when I got it it was about 2-3 sizes too large. : ( I tried to get it exchanged but all they said they could do was give me money back and let me order a new one. I didn’t have the time to do that, so I had to get the one I had taken apart and remade to fit me. Something good that came of that, is with the extra material I was able to create some pieces we were missing for the tuxedo mask costume : )
